The red variation of Cryptocoryne Wendtii is quite popular and can be used in a variety of aquatic landscapes. Its leaves have a unique look with slightly wavy edges, and some even appear dimpled or blistered. When exposed to good lighting, these leaves take on a deep, dark red color, creating a striking contrast when paired with green water trumpets.
What sets this Cryptocoryne apart, similar to other Cryptocoryne species from Sri Lanka, is its ability to thrive in hard water conditions. This makes it an ideal choice for aquariums housing cichlids, which often require specific water chemistry.
Like other Crypts, it grows at a moderate rate and can be grown both submerged and emersed. To propagate, simply cut off new plantlets growing from the mother rhizome.
