🌿 Hornwort – Fast-Growing Oxygenator for Natural Aquariums

Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is one of the best floating or free-rooting plants for low-tech, dirted tanks. Known for its bushy, feathery texture and rapid growth, Hornwort pulls waste from the water, oxygenates the tank, and provides excellent cover for shrimp and fry — all without the need for CO₂, fertilizers, or root tabs.

Grown naturally using the Father Fish method, this hardy stem plant requires no special substrate and thrives in nearly any freshwater environment.

⚡ Quick Highlights:

⭐ Super fast-growing water column feeder
⭐ No CO₂, no fertilizers, no substrate needed
⭐ Ideal for shrimp tanks, grow-outs, and algae control

💚 Why Choose Hornwort?

Great for Algae Prevention – Absorbs ammonia and nitrates rapidly
Floating or Planted – Use as a floater or anchor gently in substrate
Safe for Fry & Shrimp – Dense, feathery growth offers ideal cover
Easy to Trim & Propagate – Just cut and replant or let it float
Naturally Grown – No hydroponics, pesticides, or synthetic inputs

🪴 Plant Care Tips:

Lighting: Low to high (adapts easily)
Substrate: Not needed (but can be loosely anchored)
CO₂: Not required
Placement: Floating, background, or free-floating
Tank Size: Excellent for nano to large aquariums

🌿 Father Fish Tip:

“This is one of nature’s best filters. It floats, multiplies, pulls waste, and gives your tank instant life — no gadgets needed.”

Plant arrived very healthy, Even though it was two days late due to a UPS hold up. But I don't blame Father fish for that at all.

This plant was full of debris and tons and tons of duckweed. Certainly, you all can do better. This one was a total mess. I can't even use it.
