🌿 Amazon Sword – Extra Large Mother Plant (Echinodorus bleheri) is the biggest sword we offer—an established, soil-grown specimen with a mature root system and tank-dominating leaf spread. Built for a natural aquarium, it thrives in a deep soil base with a sand cap—no CO2, no root tabs, no bottled fertilizers.

Why you'll love it

  • Full-grown & extra large — instant height, shade, and presence
  • Mature root system — feeds from soil; no supplements needed
  • Low-tech friendly — perfect for a natural aquarium setup
  • ✅ Safe for angelfish, shrimp, fry, and peaceful communities
  • ✅ Long-term ecosystem value — structure, cover, and steady nutrient uptake

Care

  • Lighting: moderate
  • CO2: not required
  • Substrate: deep organic soil with ~2" sand cap
  • Placement: background or corner (leaves around 12–18" tall)
  • Growth rate: moderate to fast once settled
  • Tank size: 29 gallons and up recommended

🌱 Plant deep in soil so the crown sits at sand level, clear space around it, and let roots do the work—skip root tabs.

Father Fish tip

“This isn’t just a plant—it’s presence. Good dirt, a sand cap, and patience—that’s your filtration.”

👉 Build your natural aquarium with Aqua Preta soils, add quick growers from the Stem Plants Collection, and soften edges with the Anubias Collection.

Very large

It ended up being really large as one piece for my 75-gallon aquarium. I split it into 3 and trimmed down the really tall leaves

Great looking plants!

Plants arrived in good shape. Package was quite warm from the weather but they survived. Healthy plants over all!
