🌿 Red Rubin Sword – Vivid, Rooted Foliage for Low-Tech Tanks

Red Rubin Sword (Echinodorus ‘Rubin’) brings rich red, maroon, and bronze tones to your natural aquarium — without the need for CO₂, chemical fertilizers, or bottled additives. Its long, narrow leaves develop deep color under moderate light and grow tall enough to make a stunning midground or background feature in Father Fish–style dirted tanks.

This rooted sword pulls nutrients from the soil below and thrives in deep, capped substrates. It's a favorite among aquascapers for its striking color and dependable growth in low-tech systems.

💚 Why Choose Red Rubin Sword?

Bold Red to Bronze Foliage – Adds dramatic contrast to green-dominated tanks
Naturally Rooted – Thrives in rich soil without any root tabs
Low-Tech Compatible – No CO₂ or liquid dosing needed
Great for Midground/Background – Grows tall and full
Shrimp & Fry Safe – Soft leaves and dense base growth provide shelter

🪴 Plant Care Tips:

Lighting: Moderate (color deepens under stronger light)
CO₂: Not needed
Substrate: Deep soil base with sand cap
Placement: Midground or background
Growth Rate: Moderate
Tank Size: 15 gallons and up

🌱 Red coloration may vary depending on light and nutrient availability — but even in low light, the leaves stay beautifully bronzed.

🌿 Father Fish Tip:

Nice size and healthy plant, bit there was lots and lots of duckweed mixes in. It took lots of washing and picking to clear it out. It's prefer not to get duckweed started in my tanks. Overall, decent plants, but I will likely order from a different vendor next time.
