🌿 Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Brown’ – Earth-Toned Midground Plant for Natural Aquascapes

Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Brown’ is a warm-toned variation of the popular wendtii species, known for its bronze to chocolate-brown foliage and softly wavy leaves. This crypt is a favorite for natural-style aquariums because it blends beautifully with wood, stone, and other rooted plants — adding contrast and texture without dominating the scape.

Slow-growing, hardy, and 100% naturally rooted in rich organic soil, this plant thrives in Father Fish–style tanks with no need for CO₂, bottled fertilizers, or root tabs.

💚 Why Choose Crypt Wendtii ‘Brown’?

Warm Earthy Colors – Rich brown tones contrast well with green plants
Wavy Leaf Texture – Adds movement and depth to midground layouts
Naturally Grown – Soil-rooted with no synthetic chemicals or boosters
Hardy & Long-Lived – A slow grower that thrives when left alone
Safe for Shrimp & Fry – Offers shelter and biofilm areas

🪴 Plant Care Tips:

Lighting: Low to moderate
CO₂: Not needed
Substrate: Deep soil with a sand cap
Placement: Midground or clustered foreground
Growth Rate: Slow
Tank Size: 10 gallons and up

🌱 Don’t worry if it “melts” slightly when introduced — that’s normal crypt behavior. Leave it rooted and it will bounce back.

🌿 Father Fish Tip:

“Let this one root deep and don’t disturb it. It’ll reward you with rich color and perfect balance in your tank.”

The plant was way smaller than expected, and now my tank has an outbreak of little snails everywhere. REALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT NOW MY TANK HAS TO BE STRIPPED DOWN AND DISASSEMBLED TO GET RID OF THEM
